i got bored the other day so i decided to try and get my old gv rampage going , after going over the whole thing i decided it needs a whole new controler and so i headed off down the local hobby shop.
few hundred dollars later i walked out without a controler but a whole new buggy, which is pretty cool i must admit but can i change it much and do you guys allow 1;8 scale buggys in vic , im used to playing around with the real things not rc cars so i hav'nt got a clue what you can do with them
is there anyone around vic thats right into them
anyone wanna fix my rampage for me

Get some Lipos, they go upto 12000mih .
Lipos will last a lot longer, even smaller ones like a 4000 |

Type in Lipo into Ebay, and see what comes up .
Any thing over 15c is alright in a crawler, then just find a pack that will fit some where on the truck.
Depending on ya ESC you are most lickly only able to run 7.4v pack |

Even with a below average ESC and a 55t, most wont have problems with going above 7.2v |

Canada, you're on drug's, or the heat's got to you .
Put 11.1v in MOST car ESC's and watch the smoke go , even the much over hyped Novak .
If it is a stock ESC ONLY run 7.4v MAX |

but if u get lipos make sure u get a fire retardent bag to store them in. they explode wen charged wrong (for example not properly de-charged before recharging) or left too long without use. id post pics if i still had them but my mate races rc cars pretty seriously and hes had it happen to him on more than one ocassion. damaged some pretty expensive stuff too. just thought id let u know. |

You have to do something REALLY wrong to blow up a Lipo these days .
Charging 1 on a Nicad\NiMh setting will do it though .
You DON'T discharge a LiPo to charge it, this will cause most troubles people have had with Lipo's.
If people read up on some LiPo basic's then most trouble can and is avoided |

Depends on what Quality you want .
The last one i had was fairly expensive at the time
Ice charger $250 new
Tekin FX-R $160 new
Premium power 4700 $120 each
Those are prices i paid when LiPo's were new Technoligy(sp)
If you have a Lipo charger then the Batt's ar'nt expensive
Here is a great place to buy Batt's in Australia, http://www.harrisrc.com.au/lipo1.htm i'd be getting a couple of these ones HARRIS RC 3700mah 20C Hard Case if i was just starting out.
You can type in Lipo 7.4v into Ebay and it will be cheaper but make sure it is a least a 15c pack, and that it will fit .
You're ESC should be fine, but might not have LiPo cut off, you don't need one but they help, i've never run one, as soon as you notice a sudden power loss, change pack's, did it this way for years and never had a problem
Check out www.rcracer.com.au this is a awsome place to buy high end gear cheap, just keep looking in the 4 sale section.
