Hi all have an 06 4.2td RV 79 series and been suggested i put the superior wheel spacers on the arse end...1.5 inch a side
SO has anyone done this & what results or repercussions should i expect, as in increased bearing wear etc...
Cheers for the help ..........Towie |

Do you have tyre clearance issues with the chassis rails? |

No but think the extra width & putting the rear wheels in line with the front will help handleing especially on road. |

he has a 79, not a 70. the coil front diff is wider than the leaf rear diff. ive been told the V8 front is even wider. 100 series diffs are wider again so puting a 100s rear diff in isnt fixing the problem
V8 is 4 inches wider in the front than the rear |

i was thinking about this since i got my car and found out about the difference and reckon it would stress the studs a whole lot less if the spacer was machined within a mm of the axle housing. i know it will still be stressed but it will be a whole lot less. maybe well worth an investigation. id be interested if someone could do it. |

the 79 1hdfte also has a much wider front than rear. its been a topic of discussion since they first came out. the V8 is just meant to be even wider. |

didnt know? cant find that writting anywhere?, only the above that I have posted for a 79 series. The V8 models I know are different due to the chassis and panel work changes for that motor. Never heard of a 1HDFTE being wider than any other 79 series though. |

i just meant all the coil sprung front leaf rear cruisers have wheel track width differences. not just the V8 models. |

I've not found anything in concrete so i might contact Toyota tomorrow & suss it out..
It is a definate that the margin between front & rear is substantial its not just a few mm its more like 50mm.. whether thats enough to worry about i dont know.
Just the same though its something to f**k around with as long as its not going to cause problems.. |
